Mr. Silver has nearly 30 years of experience on Wall Street, with particular expertise as an advisor in the practices of M&A, company formation, capital fundraising, credit facilities, REITs, private equity, and venture capital. With a "company founding" mentality at the core of his business philosophy, he has advised on approximately $2 billion in business transactions since 2004. Mr. Silver is skilled at identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to match management teams with the appropriate capital resources. Prior to founding Silver & Associates, Mr. Silver was General Partner at The Sapphire Group, a boutique merchant bank, where he launched the group's specialty finance /REIT practice.
While at The Sapphire Group, Mr. Silver spearheaded efforts that resulted in the $130 million initial public offering (IPO) of a specialty finance REIT, where he served as a founding principal of the company. In addition, he was responsible for orchestrating two acquisitions that resulted in one of the largest M&A transactions in the specialty finance space in 2005. Mr. Silver was intimately involved in all aspects of each transaction, including the development of the business plans and making capital introductions. Before joining the Sapphire Group, Mr. Silver spent 20 years at large Wall Street investment banks, including UBS, Warburg Dillon Read, Paine Webber, and Lehman Brothers.
